The island has now become sort of a tourist attraction due to its "kampong" lifestyle which still exist.
I spoke with 2 persons there and they know who my grandfather was. Sadly my grandfather's house has been demolished.
One thing that I did not realised was that there is a German Girl Temple on the island. You can Google the Internet for the story.
To get to the island, you need to take a bum-boat from the Changi ferry terminal. Things on the island is a bit more expensive compared to the mainland but I felt that the price is worth paying if it helps to keep the place going.
For me it is nice to note that it is the traditional kampong areas on the island that is flourishing. Other modern facilities seem to be "out of business".
